A highly emotional Sachin Tendulkar will finally have the World Cup champion’s memento in his cabinet of trophies. Sachin said it was the "proudest moment of my life".
"I could not have asked for anything else. It is the proudest moment of my life," said Tendulkar after the Indian team did a lap of honour after India's six wicket victory over Sri Lanka here Saturday to lift the World Cup after 28 years.
I especially want to thank the support staff. Mike Horn (motivational speaker), who has helped us cope with the expectations and pressure. The team stuck together in the rough phases and proved people who doubted our ability wrong.

He may be the youngest member of this Indian team but Virat Kohli's post-match statement will be remembered by one and all.

The former U-19 captain who led the side to Youth World Cup victory in Kuala Lumpur three years back said,"It's the most wonderful feeling I have ever experienced."
Harbhajan Singh who was very emotional said,"This means the World to me. This is for the people of our nation."
